Federal,Enugu Government Should Compensate Families Of Nimbo Massacre Victims -NUF

A group known as Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) has urged the Enugu state government and the Federal government as well to compensate the families that lost their loved ones in April 25 inversion of Nimbo community in Enugu state by Fulani herdsmen.
Augustine Chukwudum, the president of Ndigbo Unity Forum, made the submission in an interview with the News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Monday.
The government should be blamed for the inversion of Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state by Fulani herdsmen,he said.
He went further to state that,"the successful attack and killing of about 50 people in the community was as a result of the government inability to provide enough security in the area.
"The Federal government and Enugu state government must bear the burden of the death and pay the due compensation to the families of the deceased.
"This is because government has failed in its constitutional duty of protecting its people",he said.
He therefore called on south-east governors to pull resources together to put an end to unnecessary killing and terror within the zone.
He said that the forum condemn in strong term the criminal inversion and killing of innocent citizens.
